My name is Elaine Anne Mc Donald. I have a background in nursing. I have been a qualified general nurse for over two decades and paediatric nurse for almost two decades! I trained in the Mater Hospital and then Temple Street Hospital. I have worked in General Practice with GPs for the last eight years and recently decided to pursue a full time career in complementary therapy. I also hold a diploma qualification in an Introduction to Behavioural Psychology and just over a year ago, completed my studies in the prescriptive practice of medicines. I hold many other qualifications which relate locally to the area I was working it at the time, so for example, ear irrigation, cervical smear sampling in GP practice etc
Two years ago I began receiving reflexology and quickly realised the beneficial qualities related to this treatment. Between reflexology, reiki and acupuncture, I began the transition into my highest self and let me tell you- I'm here to stay!
Given my curious brain, receiving reflexology wasn't enough. I wanted to know more! So I began my ITEC Diploma training as a Reflexologist through Green Tara College, Meath (www.greentara.ie). Did you know that the birth of reflexology came from an Ear,Nose & Throat Specialist by the name of Dr. William Fitzgerald who developed 'zone therapy'. Fast forward a decade or so where Eunice Ingham, a physiotherapist, focused on these zones, but in the feet. She found that by applying pressure to certain points on the feet, certain parts of the body were affected. Amazing! I have also completed Reiki Levels 1, 2 & 3, Indian Head Massage and Hopi Ear Candling.
I am a member of the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland, Irish Reflexologists Institute and Reiki Federation of Ireland.
I am up to date with Basic Life Support, Children's First and have been successfully Garda vetted for each role I have undertaken.
So here I am now, ready to share the wonderful gift of therapy to you, my wonderful Clients and hope you find it as therapeutic as I do.
